We are recruiting for a permanent full-time Regional Housing Supervisor to provide leadership and supervision to a team of staff working in the Regional Housing Support Services program providing services throughout Simcoe County.  As the Regional Housing Supervisor, you will liaise with community based partners and the community at large to promote principles of inclusion, person-centred services and Housing First Principles. This position works 37.5 hours per week with an hourly rate of pay of $30.88.

Minimum requirements of this position include:

  • a Degree or Diploma in the social services field; other degrees or diplomas may be considered if a combination of education and experience provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities;
  • a minimum of two years recent full-time experience in a social services or related environment, including working with the housing or homelessness sector;
  • supervisory experience is required;
  • knowledge of CQL (The Council on Quality and Leadership) values and approach is an asset;
  • demonstrated knowledge of Housing First Principles, guidelines and related housing concepts;
  • knowledge and proven skills in providing case management;
  • knowledge of the Quality Assurance Measures Act, Ministry of Labour regulations, and Occupational Health and Safety;
  • valid G class driver's license and reliable transportation to be used for employment purposes;
  • must be available to work flexible hours;

Duties and responsibilities:  (including, but not limited to) 

  • monitoring case management using a person-centred approach that is consistent with Housing First Principles and the Council on Quality and Leadership Personal Outcome Measures;
  • coaching, mentoring and effecting changes in attitudes and performance of front-line staff as necessary;
  • staying current and knowledgeable on trends related to issues related to homelessness and poverty;
  • supporting the work of established housing and homelessness partnerships across Simcoe County;
  • scheduling and maintaining all staff hours of work and ensuring that Supervision and Team Meetings occur on a regular basis;
  • participating in budgeting and monitoring expenditures, thereby ensuring effective use of all resources assigned to their areas of responsibility;
  • providing coverage for other Supervisors and the Supports and Services Manager, as appropriate, in their absence;
  • participate in ongoing education and training;
