We are presently accepting resumes for 4 permanent full-time Awake Overnight Support Worker III positions in our Accommodation programs (group homes).  This position provides supportive services to meet the direct care needs of individuals in the Accommodation's program in Barrie utilizing the Personal Outcomes philosophy.  The hourly rate of pay for this position is $21.45 and works up to 37.5 hours weekly.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

 The successful candidate for this position must be prepared to and will be required to work primarily the awake overnight shift.

  • D.S.W. diploma or an acceptable educational equivalency (Child & Youth Worker, E.C.E., S.S.W., Nursing, Psychology, etc.) as determined by the employer is required;
  • a minimum of six months recent work experience providing support for individuals with an intellectual  disability is required;
  • proven ability to work as part of a team and/or independently;
  • current valid certificates and a demonstrated proficiency in First Aid, C.P.R., N.V.C.I. and medication dispensing or successful completion of a recognized pharmacology course is preferred;
  • excellent communication skills including listening and interpersonal skills;
  • good computer skills in Microsoft Office products and experience with databases is required;
  • Understanding of the Agency's principles and demonstrated ability in supporting individuals to meet their personal support outcomes is essential.
  • ability to work weekends, holidays as well as shifts other than the awake overnight shift when scheduled
  • a valid class "G" driver's license and own reliable transportation is required;
